Courthouse weddings will be scheduled for weekdays at the preferred time of noontime unless it is a day set aside for a jury trial or an intake day.
When scheduling a courthouse wedding, you must provide your name and a telephone number where you can be reached during daytime hours. You will also need to determine whether you will be bringing your own witnesses or whether courthouse personnel will serve as witnesses. If bringing your own, you must provide two witnesses that are over the age of eighteen.
On the day of the wedding, please report to the Register in Probate’s office at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony. The marriage license will need to be received by the judicial assistant the day prior to the ceremony. If the parties wish to cancel the wedding, they are to notify the judicial assistant well in advance. Please note that the court calendar can change on short notice and weddings may need to be rescheduled as a result.
